I hope we've all been watching the National's broadcasts! Since One Man Two Guvnors, they have released a new stream available for 7 days on every Thursday - though I missed Jane Eyre and forgot to write about Treasure Island (ooops), their next one was their 2017 production of Twelfth Night - on what would have been Shakespeare's birthday. This is not a new play to me. In fact, it is fast becoming one of my personal favourites of mine.

I remember the hype around this production at the time, notably due to the fact they've genderbent the character of Malvolio to become Malvolia, played by the brilliant Tamsin Greig; brilliant is correct to while we're on the subject. Her scenes were definitely a highlight, and her yellow stocking moment is.... well.... just watch it...

In fact, that describes it pretty well.

I don't want to say to much more (other that the Toby Belch in this production is like Captain Haddock from the Tintin comics became a toff!). The best way to describe is that it's like being in the Med with a glass of wine. It's a good choice for a night in when you can just relax.

It was a good choice for the times we're in at the moment, and if you'd like to watch it, the link is here. It will be available until Thursday night, when Frankenstein will start playing......
