EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

AMETUER PLAYERS USURP JACOBI'S SCROOGE!!

Unsatisfied from their first attempt to ruin the festive season, following their disastrous pantomime Peter Pan earlier this year, it was originally believed that the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society were banned from the BBC in disgrace. However, tonight, they came back and did what they do best - muck everything up!

And this year, they had the sheer audacity to storm into the BBC studios whilst filming was underway for the eagerly anticipated adaptation of the classic story A Christmas Carol; and steal the leading role of Ebernezer Scrooge from Sir Derek Jacobi no less!!

Who knows what this rabble of bumbling amateurs will do next??!!

I'm playing with you of course (to an extent). Due to the success of Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Mischief Theatre were back at the BBC with their latest venture, A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. 2017 has been a very good year for them; as well as Peter Pan airing last January, their original smash The Play That Goes Wrong went on tour and also opened on Broadway this year, while The Comedy About A Bank Robbery garnered an Olivier nomination for Best New Comedy; and what an end to the year, because, as you would expect from them, EVERYTHING went wrong - and it was brilliant.

As mentioned before, the production co-starred Sir Derek Jacobi, but he wasn't the only familiar face to pop up, as it was narrated by Dame Diana Rigg (who most people now will know for her AMAZING performance as Lady Olenna Tyrell (or The Queen of Thorns) on Game of Thrones).

It has just aired on BBC1 tonight, and I urge you to go on iPlayer and catch it if you weren't lucky enough to see it air tonight. You will NOT be disappointed:
